However, it is appears that this only applies to damage, i.e. For example, by focusing on using only light weapons to kill enemies, the cost to raise the Light Weapons skill drops a little with each enemy damaged or killed. Third, in the Collectors Edition, players can also decrease the use of certain skills by using them after gaining at least one level in them. This also seems to stack with upgraded classes. This reduces the cost of raising favored skills. Second, depending upon the player's current classes, certain skills will have learning bonuses. Thus the higher the player's intellect, the lower the cost for raising all skills. First, the character's Intelligence stat directly influences all skill costs. However, there are three ways to reduce the cost of increasing a stat. Like stats, each level increase is more expensive than the previous one. Skills are increased with ADV points, just like stats. The majority of Skills are available to all players right from the start, but some are linked to particular classes. Skills are grouped into categories with pretty much their own unique color. ![]() Note: If you rest at a campfire your arcane, celestial, and rune spells will recharge.īy opening the character page, a player can view and raise their Skills. This makes it so you don't have to run around or take tons of damage because you can't heal. Note: If you are choking, or immobilized, you can go into your inventory or the menu and wait for the effect to wear off. Note: This page is based on the collector's edition of the game Fighter combinations get all of that except for the crystal magic.Note: Any skills with prerequisites can not exceed the prerequisite skill's level Adept->Valkyrie is nice because you get crystal (divine) magic, rune magic, and the ability to use pretty much any weapon in the game. Anything based on fighter and valkyrie are the only classes which unlock the abilty to equip any armor better than leather. If you want to go adept, I strongly recommend making a female character so you can pick the "Valkyrie" tier-2 class. If you open every chest you find, you won't get too far behind on the skills.įighter and Adept make for decent class combo's with Rogue. If you run into a lock that's just too hard, even with lockpicks, throw a point or two at inspect/disarm until you're able to manage it. You can go get this once you've gotten to Arindale.ĥ. It's the big island, and it has only one spot you can get "in" to it's interior, so you'll likely have to swim around the island to find that entry point. The "moonstone" item required to activate the moongates can be acquired on an island in the big northern lake. Once you get to Arindale, you will not be able to return to Fargrove until you've completed a number of quests and dungeons. And some enemies are just far easier to kill with ranged weapons.ģ. Also note that ranged weapons (thrown and bow) do not degrade, so using ranged weapons at times is a good idea. You can buy some extra repair kits from vendors, but they are not unlimited. Invest some in the repair skill, but use repair kits judiciously. ![]() Keep a couple sets of weapons on hand, and when heading into a dungeon, don't use your best weapons until you find the "boss" fights, to preserve durability. Weapons (and armor) loose durability as they're used. Bash is unreliable, and the equipment from chests is far far better than the drops from enemies.Ģ. ![]() The difference was opening all the chests. When playing as a rogue, I had equipment almost as good as I acquired over the entire first game before I left fargrove, and by the time I returned to fargrove, I was doing roughly 3x the damage per attack as the prior playthrough. I've played through the first portion of the game (through completing the events in Arindale and returning to Fargrove) twice now once without, and once with. ![]() Note that at this time of writing, the stylesheets are broken on a bunch of the content, but it's still there you just have to scroll down a way to get to it.ġ. has excellent information on classes, skills, walkthrough, etc. Those guilds offer additional "options" for 2nd and 3rd tier classes. There are two "free" guilds the eastern guild, and the sisterhood (requires female character). You start the game with one class, and must join a guild (and complete a quest) to recieve a second class. Things I've picked up playing through this game Ī brief intro to the class system you get two base classes (adept, mage, fighter, rogue), two tier-two classes, and 1 tier-3 class.
